I always say photos are memories
It is often you'r most beautiful, most important moments and people that you want to keep forever. But sometimes it's the ever-present moments that you need to be aware of. Because what if they don't exist anymore. This year is such a year that you wake up for that.
With us these are our sweet beagles for 14 & almost 16 years we can enjoy them. And more and more I am aware that every day is a present with them. And more and more often I find myself taking pictures of their quirks and everyday behavior
So is our “youngest” (14), she loves her blanket. She likes to snore under it. And if she can't get under the blanket, she looks at you intently as long as she wants to say "Come and help me with this". What a dog and I hope to enjoy her for a long time.
In loving memory
A few months after I wrote this spotlight message. Is our oldest beagle a few days after we turn her 16! birthday passed away. We have been able to enjoy her beagle pranks for 16 years and we will miss her so much! But I'm so glad I took so many pictures of her, so many memories.

Herinneringen // Beagle Eigenaardigheden
Foto’s zijn herinneringen zeg ik altijd.
Het zijn vaak je mooiste, belangrijkste momenten en personen die je wilt bewaren voor altijd. Maar soms zijn het juist de altijd aanwezige momenten waarvan je even bewust moet zijn. Want wat als die er niet meer zijn. Dit jaar is zo’n jaar dat je daar even voor wakker geschud word.
Bij ons zijn dat onze lieve beagles al 14 & bijna 16 jaar mogen we van ze genieten. En steeds meer ben ik me van bewust dat elke dag een cadeautje is met ze. En steeds vaker betrap ik me op dat ik foto’s maak van hun eigenaardigheden en dagelijks gedrag
Zo ook onze “jongste” (14), ze houd van haar dekentje. Ze snurkt er graag onder. En als het haar niet lukt onder deken te komen, kijkt ze je net zolang doordringend aan of ze wil zeggen “Kom help me even hiermee”. Wat een portret en wat hoop ik nog lang van haar te genieten!
In liefdevolle herinnering
Een paar maanden nadat ik dit spotlight berichtje geschreven had. Is onze oudste beagle een paar dagen nadat we haar 16! verjaardag hebben mogen vieren overleden. 16 jaar hebben we van haar beagle streken mogen genieten en wat zullen we haar missen! Maar wat ben ik blij dat ik zoveel fotos gemaakt heb van haar, zoveel herinneringen.

Dutch Windmill // Friesland, The Netherlands
In 2020 I went on holiday in my own country, The Netherlands. With the caravan on a campsite in the province of Friesland. Why Friesland? I hadn't actually been there often and I wanted to discover this beautiful province. It is a province with many lakes, a beautiful wadden region on the North Sea, great for walking around and enjoying nature. But the old villages and towns were also very nice to see. That's how I was in the historic city of Dokkum. A beautiful old town with fantastic photographic hotspots. Like this old Dutch windmill. Dutch culture at its best.

The windmill is photographed from a frog's perspective, because of this you get the feeling that the windmill is very large. Which was of course true, but the feeling is magnified. The clouds fill the background and seem to float away. This makes it an exciting whole. And by also converting the photo into black and white, it gets a dramatic atmosphere.

In this photo the mill is taken straight from the front, so you can see more of the mill. Due to the white background and the black and white conversion, this entire photo revolves around the windmill and you are not distracted by anything else. The photo has a nostalgic feeling, of course, this fits well with the subject.

Authentieke Friese windmolen
In 2020 ben ik op vakantie in eigen land geweest. Met de caravan op een camping in de provincie Friesland. Waarom Friesland? Ik was daar eigenlijk nog niet vaak geweest en ik wilde deze mooie provincie wel eens ontdekken. Het is een provincie met heel veel meren, een prachtig waddengebied aan de Noordzee, heerlijk om rond te wandelen en te genieten van de natuur.
Maar ook de oude dorpen en steden waren erg tof om te zien. Zo was ik ook in de historische stad Dokkum. Een mooie oude stad met fantastische fotografische hotspots. Zoals deze oude windmolen. Nederlandse cultuur ten top.

De windmolen is vanuit een kikkerperspectief gefotografeerd hier door krijg je je het gevoel dat de molen erg groot is. Wat ook zo was natuurlijk, maar het gevoel word zo vergroot. De wolken vullen de achtergrond en lijken zo weg te drijven. Hierdoor word het een spannend geheel. En door de foto ook nog in zwart-wit om te zetten krijgt het een dramatisch sfeertje.

Op deze foto is de molen recht van voren genomen, waardoor je meer molen ziet. Door de witte achtergrond en de zwart-wit omzetting draait deze hele foto om de windmolen en wordt je nergens anders door afgeleid. De foto heeft een nostalgisch gevoel dat past natuurlijk goed bij het onderwerp.

Weekend!
And what better way to start your weekend than with good news. I like to take pictures of cool objects and beautiful places. Purely selfish to myself. Quite a shame actually. I think I can make others happy with that too. So I started looking into selling my work so that you can enjoy it at home as well.

Weekend!
En hoe kan je weekend beter starten dan met goed nieuws 😊. Ik maak graag foto’s van gave objecten en mooie plekken. Puur egoïstisch voor me zelf. Best zonde eigenlijk. Daar kan ik andere ook blij mee maken dacht ik. Dus ik ben me er in gaan verdiepen om mijn werk te verkopen, zodat jullie er ook van kunnen genieten thuis.

Dit resulteerde al in Society6 en Werk aan de Muur. Maar sinds vandaag mag ik met trots RedBubble ook aan dit rijtje toevoegen. Ze verkopen ook zulke toffe producten. Bijvoorbeeld kunst aan de muur, zoals Fine Art Prints, Canvas, Posters. En andere producten zoals laptop hoezen, klokken, tassen en zelfs een puzzel voor onze puzzelaars onder ons 😉 en zo veel meer.
